WELCOME TO THE FRANKFORT PARKS & RECREATION
The Frankfort Parks & Recreation is responsible for managing Frankfort's 8 City Parks; Prairie Creek Park, Veteran's Park, TPA Park, Larry Ferrell Park (Eastside), Luther Howe Park (Green Street Park), John Redman Park (3rd Street Park), Circle Park, and Dorner Park! The Department handles all rentals for the Frankfort Neighborhood Center, Encompass Event Center at Prairie Creek Park and the Shelters at TPA Park.
Our team is dedicated to providing clean, safe, and inclusive park spaces for all of Frankfort. We take pride in offering a diverse range of amenities to suit every interest and age. For the active enjoyment of basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, to the refreshing splash pad at Prairie Creek Park, and Sapphire Bay Aquatic Park, our parks cater to a wide range of recreational activities. Furry friends are welcome at our dedicated Dog Park in Dorner Park, and families can delight in our FREE Zoo & Aviary. We also ensure accessibility for all with ADA-compliant playground equipment. The Parks Department handles the day-to-day operations at each park, maintenance issues, and all improvements made in any of the parks. The department puts on the 4th of July Festival, Festival of Lights, Raíces (Hispanic Heritage) Festival, Summer Concert Series, Movie in the Park Series, Downtown TuneNights, Community Easter Egg Hunt, and the Bike Race.

The Splash Pad at Prairie Creek Park is open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day. Normal hours are: 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Stay up to date on closings on our Facebook Page and on our Frankfort Connect app.

2025 Movies in the Park
Join us for a wonderful night out with your family at Prairie Creek Park! We will be showing diverse family-friendly films all season long! This is a FREE event for all to enjoy, and better yet, we will be handing out FREE popcorn to make it a fun-filled night! All of our movies will begin at dusk (8:30/9:00pm). Bring your lawn chairs, and your blankets and enjoy a movie night with us!

4TH OF JULY FESTIVAL AT TPA PARK
Celebrate a day of excitement with us at TPA Park for our 4th of July Festival! Admission & parking are FREE! Enjoy delicious food, unique vendors, LIVE music, a one of a kind spectacular firework show, put on by our very own Frankfort Jaycees. Don’t miss the Car Show and enjoy Sapphire Bay Aquatic Center for $7 a person, children under 2 are FREE.
Looking to be a vendor during our 4th of July Festival, click on the Document Center to download a form. Fill out the vendor form and bring in your form of payment to the Park Office. You can also send it in the mail.
WeCare will have a Pickleball Tournament. Stay tuned for more information!

RAICES FESTIVAL AT PRAIRIE CREEK PARK

Celebrate the vibrant & rich diversity of Latin American culture. Enjoy LIVE music, captivating art displays, interactive demonstrations, various unique vendors & don't forget about the authentic, mouthwatering cuisine.
September 13th, 2025 downtown Frankfort will be the place to be, bring the whole family for a day they will always remember! Admission & parking are FREE!

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS AT TPA PARK

Experience the magic this season, with over 1 Million LED Christmas Lights and mesmerizing animated displays! Our Festival of Lights is a drive thru dazzling winter wonderland only. While driving through, you can have a wonderful time visiting with Santa at the Santa House, where he loves to hand out candy canes to all.
Not only can your whole family come on out to the Festival of Lights, but also, your animals, we love seeing the twinkle in their eyes! Santa, may even have dog treats for them! After you stop at the Santa House, you can indulge in hot chocolate and tasty treats at our concession stand, warm up with a bowl of soup! While driving through the festival, tune to 96.9 to hear wonderful Christmas music and a few of the Parks Department's interviews about what they love during the Festival of Lights.
Our Festival of Lights, is ran solely on donations only and we warmly appreciate them all. You will not want to miss out on all the excitement during our Festival of Lights located in TPA Park, 1 Adrian Marks Drive, Frankfort, IN 46041.

- Hours: The Parks Office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. All payments must be paid before 2:30 p.m. in exact cash, check or a money order. Made out to the Frankfort Parks Department. If you cannot make it by 3:00 p.m. we do have a drop box attached to our mailbox.
