Construction of New Fire Station #4
COMING SOON!
On October 2023, the City of Frankfort City council authorized the contract to build a new 12,000 - 15,000 square foot fire station. This new station (Station #4) will be an addition to the current three fire stations that are operational. Station #4 will be the first dedicated growth to the City's Fire Department since 1968. The new station will be designed to house an additional 12 firefighters and have the capability to withstand the growth of Frankfort towards Interstate 65. The current design, location selection, and detailed specific functions will continue as the City of Frankfort officials continue to work through the design phase. The City has a projected timeline for completion by mid to late 2026 or early 2027

The City of Frankfort NEW Comprehensive Plan
As of Spring 2026, the City of Frankfort earned a Community Development Block Grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Planning Grant program to support the creation of a new comprehensive plan. The plan will serve as a blueprint for the City's future, guiding development, infrastructure improvements, and community initiatives.
The new comprehensive plan is set to be completed by early 2027!

The City of Frankfort NEW Safer Streets for All (SS4A) Action Plan
The City of Frankfort was awarded a grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to develop a safety plan. The City of Frankfort will use the grant funding to conduct a thorough safety analysis of its transportation system, identify high-risk locations, and develop strategies to improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists. The plan will prioritize safety improvements and allocate resources to implement effective solutions.
The City of Frankfort SS4A Action Plan is set to be completed by winter of 2026!
