Construction of New Fire Station

On October of 2023, the City of Frankfort City Council authorized the contract to build a new 12,000 - 15,000 square foot fire station. This new fire station (Station #4) will be an addition to the current three fire stations that are operational. Station #4 will be the first dedicated growth to the City's Fire Department since 1968. The new station will be designed to house an additional 12 firefighters and have the capability to withstand the growth of Frankfort towards Interstate I-65. The current design, location selections, and detailed specific functions will continue as the City of Frankfort officials continue to work through the design phase. The City has a perspective timeline to be completed by mid to late 2026 or early 2027. 

The City of Frankfort Annexation Progress 

As of March 25, 2024, the City of Frankfort has annexed from Roy Scott Parkway (County Road 200 West) to the I-65 corridor including Jefferson. The City of Frankfort will begin to provide services by March of 2025. The Frankfort Police Department will patrol the new annexed area starting September 1, 2024.
