This Thanksgiving, as we reflect upon all the many reasons we have to be grateful, I am thankful that despite the many challenges our community has faced, we have remained kind to each other and looked for opportunities to work together to make our city a better place to live, work, and grow.
I am thankful we live in a city that cares about its neighbors, businesses, and visitors, a city that is home to residents who look out for those who are less fortunate. Our community works together to be kind, giving, and supportive of one another, and that dedication gives me encouragement to work harder in my commitment to the residents and the city I serve.
I am thankful for our city employees, who work to meet our residents’ needs through prompt, responsive service, and to our city council members, board of works members, and all other community leaders whose diligent efforts contribute to the stability of our city.
I am thankful for our religious and faith-based organizations for providing pastoral guidance and spiritual leadership, and for our many social service organizations for their extensive outreach ministries benefitting so many in our city.
I am thankful for our families, our neighbors, our residents, and our businesses. You are the heart and soul of our community, and your continued passion and commitment are an inspiration as we work together to make Frankfort a strong and vibrant community.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let us all make an extra effort to help those in need, embrace our differences, celebrate our diverse heritage, and give thanks for the many blessings we share.
