The Frankfort Historic Preservation Commission met at a regularly scheduled meeting on June 23, 2020 at 5:30pm and the following action was taken:

MINUTES: Minutes from the April 28, 2020, May 26, 2020, and June 5, 2020 meetings were presented for review. Tom Morrison made a motion to approve minutes as presented. Crystal Reichert seconded the motion. Upon roll call, three “ayes” were heard. Minutes approved.
NEW BUSINESS: Agenda Item No III- 357 E Washington St. Clinton Taylor is the contractor and is present to answer any questions on the project. He states that work will take place at the Hi-Tech Label building. Some routine maintenance work will take place such as tuck-pointing, which is not required to be approved by the board. He notes that the items presented for approval are as follows: new insulated solar glass windows, painting building a darker green than is currently there, new bronze front door, and awnings to be placed on front of building. Awnings will be similar to those present at Ellis Jewelers downtown. They will be black in color, have a three foot projection, and be installed in three equal sections. They plan to print graphics on the awnings which requires a special exception as that is not currently allowed in our sign ordinance. Tom Morrison made a motion to approve the project as presented. Crystal Reichert seconded the motion. Upon roll call, three “ayes” heard. Motion passed.
- President Wilhite noted there was another applicant present. Tom Morrison states that if it’s okay with other members the board could hear his proposal tonight. All other members agreed. Josh Swinford approached the board regarding 309 Harvard Terrace. He was not on the agenda but would like approval to build four season sun room on to existing home. He notes that reclaimed brick that used to be the pillars on the front of the home will be used as well as vinyl & soffit to match the rest of the home. This room will be added on to the rear of the home and he is doing the work himself. Tom Morrison made a motion to approve the project as presented. Crystal Reichert seconded the motion. Upon roll call, three “ayes” heard. Motion passed.
With no further business, President Wilhite adjourned the meeting.
