Parks Department Announces Safety Measures for Aviary and Petting Zoo

Frankfort, IN – The Parks Department staff will be implementing additional measures in the TPA Petting Zoo and Aviary for the safety of the visitors, animals, and staff. The Petting Zoo & Aviary will be sanitized and disinfected daily.

Visitors need to make sure they do not have any symptoms related to Covid-19. Anyone with a cold, flu-like symptoms, or a fever above 100.4 should stay home. Before entering the Petting Zoo or Aviary, all visitors will be required to sanitize their hands. Hand Sanitizer Stations will be set up at the entrance of both the Petting Zoo and Aviary. Once inside, visitors are expected to observe social distancing and stay six feet away from others. The Aviary will have one-way traffic to avoid passing other visitors.

The Petting Zoo and Aviary do not allow food and beverages. The animal feeding stations will not be set up for the 2020 Season. Please do not feed the animals; this is for the safety of the animals and the safety of the zookeepers.

The TPA Petting Zoo and Aviary will be open daily from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm starting June 14, 2020.
