Frankfort Police Detectives interviewed a 13-year-old juvenile for their role in a shooting earlier this morning. The juvenile was transported by officers to the Clinton County Courthouse where the juvenile was ordered detained pending formal charges. Evidence gathered at the scene and from witnesses indicate three juveniles were hanging out together when one juvenile brought out a firearm from a bedroom. At some point, one of the juveniles pulled the trigger of the firearm and one round struck another 13-year old juvenile in the face. The juvenile was airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital and is currently in surgery. That juvenile is expected to survive.
As Frankfort Police continue to investigate and present the facts to the Clinton County Prosecutor, there will be no further updates from the department.
