Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive – July 11

Frankfort, IN – Clinton County residents are encouraged to give blood on Thursday, July 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church (352 West Clinton Street) to help remember fallen police officers, recognize the dangers of the law enforcement profession and the need to donate blood.

According to Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon, the Frankfort Police Department in conjunction with the Frankfort Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #69 are partnering with the American Red Cross for the Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive on Thursday, July 11.

“For the past several years the Frankfort Police Department, along with the local FOP lodge, have participated in this important project founded by Janice Starnes whose husband, Sergeant Daniel Starnes was killed in the line of duty on July 10, 2001, during a traffic stop in Martinsville.

“I invite – and thank in advance – all those able and willing to donate blood to do so for this very worthy cause,” Bacon said.

Each unit of blood helps three individuals by providing red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Please visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS for more information, donor eligibility requirements, and to schedule your donation appointment.
