Frankfort, Ind. – June 24, 2019 – Monday night, Frankfort City Council members will be voting on a resolution to provide $100,000 of financial aid and assistance to One80 Recovery Resources, Inc. The funding provided by the City of Frankfort will be used to construct a sober-living home that will provide mental health counseling and treatment, vocational training and job placement as well as relationship support and family recovery assistance.
One80 Board Chairman Richard Reck shared his gratitude for this partnership, saying,
“We believe this program will have a positive impact on the City of Frankfort that will reverberate throughout the local community. The need for sober living beds in the state of Indiana is at an all-time high. The biggest contributor to the rise in foster care is substance abuse and addiction. Our efforts will provide for that need and will allow foster children to reconnect with their sober parents. One80 Recovery Resources is very pleased to partner with the City of Frankfort on this much-needed resource. Our vision continues to focus on healing those in need, providing them with jobs, and rebuilding relationships. The financial aid received from the City of Frankfort will help us reach these goals.”
Mayor Chris McBarnes expressed enthusiasm for the One80 Recovery Program saying,
“Addiction is one of the most defining issues our generation will face. We need to confront this epidemic boldly, effectively, and compassionately. We have strived to give our police officers the tools to remove these poisons from our city streets, and they have been very successful in doing so. We have partnered with our community schools and local not-for-profits to teach our youth about the dangers of drugs. We need to do more to help those already in the grasp of addiction. We are pleased to announce our partnership with One80 Recovery Resources so that an inpatient addiction recovery center can be built in our community. We must erase the stigma of addiction. If you need help, ask for it. This new inpatient recovery center will help rebuild healthy lives and return citizens to a productive life of love and success.”
Speaking on behalf of the city council, President Jim Moyer said,
“This resolution highlights the city’s resolve to respond to the current opioid crisis and respond proactively to the needs of our community. We hope this assistance will encourage other organizations and groups to contribute to this worthy cause as well.”
