Anytime the Water Works Department issues a Boil Water Advisory residents are hand-delivered a letter informing them of the situation, what homes are affected, and an approximate time frame of how long we expect it to last. Once a Boil Water Advisory has been lifted, they are again hand-delivered a letter informing them of the lift notice.
On Tuesday, May 21, Frankfort Water Works shut off the water supply to make new water main connections. The water system lost pressure due to this construction activity. When water mains lose pressure, it increases the chance that untreated water and undesirable microbes can enter the water main.
When the water pressure is restored today, the water mains will be flushed and samples will be tested to ensure the water is safe.
Impacted residents will need to boil water or use bottled water for drinking for two or more days. You will be informed when tests show that you no longer need to boil your water.
The areas impacted include portions of Washington St, Washington Ave, Sycamore St, Ohio St, Morrison St, Aughe St, and one address on Sims Street.
