Frankfort, IN – March 29, 2019 – The Frankfort Street Department has started working on city alleys, performing regular maintenance as well as grading, dragging and rolling work to improve alley surfaces. Stone will be added to any alleys that need additional fill.
Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe said, “We recognize that alleys play a significant role in the lives of our citizens. We are working hard to ensure that people can travel the alleys as easily as possible.”
The street department is working in a systematic manner and dividing the alley work into city quadrants. Work has already started in the northwest quadrant of the city. Once the alleys in this section have been completed, crews will move to the southwest quadrant of the city followed by the southeast and finishing on the northeast side of the city.
Forsythe mentioned that the weather will play a significant role in the amount of time it will take to complete the alley maintenance saying, “We are committed to completing this work as quickly as possible and we are asking residents to be patient as we work our way through the city.”
