McBarnes shares leadership summit agenda

Event to be streamed live for citizens

Frankfort, IN – Continuing to communicate about his upcoming Leadership Summit, Mayor Chris McBarnes shared the evening’s agenda with City and County leaders invited to the February 23 event.

“As sometimes happens with an event that has not happened in quite a while or has never been done before as we are doing it, there has been some misunderstanding regarding the intended purpose of the event. Since our City and County governing bodies have not communicated with each other in the past as we all would have liked, I am bringing these folks together to heighten our knowledge and awareness of the importance of communication.

“The goal is that we all leave with enhanced insights and apply new knowledge and skills to our collective commitment to serve the individuals, families and businesses of Frankfort and Clinton County. Because this Summit is community leader-focused, it is not designed as a public forum. However, the outcomes will directly benefit our citizens as we as leaders apply the skills we learn,” McBarnes explained.

No specific community issues will be discussed. No decisions or votes about any community issues will take place. In the spirit of transparency, McBarnes is having the event streamed live on the Web so citizens can view what is happening from their homes. The media can cover the event and the Mayor will issue an event recap in the days following the February 23 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. gathering at the Frankfort Community Schools Administration Building.

Butler University Instructor in Organizational Communication and Leadership Paul Sandin will facilitate the Summit, guiding the group through a presentation on communication, leadership, ethics in leadership and decision-making.
