Fall clean up September 30 – October 7

FREE drop off day at county landfill September 30

Frankfort, Ind. – Frankfort residents are encouraged to take advantage of the City’s Fall Clean Up Week September 30 – October 7, beginning with a FREE day at the Republic Services Clinton County Landfill for Clinton County residents from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30.

Pickup trucks, family vans and car loads of materials will be accepted at the landfill that day with no trailers or dump trucks allowed. Items that will not be accepted at the landfill: no electronics (TVs, computers), no roofing, appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators), tires, batteries, yard waste or liquids.

According to Frankfort Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe, the free Saturday leading up to the City’s Fall Clean Up Week is a great opportunity to get a head start on clean up activities for residents.

“The more folks can take advantage of disposing materials at the landfill on September 30 free of charge to them, the more cost savings for the City while cleaning up the community at the same time.

“During Fall Clean Up Week residents can drop off up to two pickup truck loads of materials per residence free of charge at the Street Department including large bulk items such as couches, mattresses, box springs, appliances, carpet, chairs, up to two car tires, dressers and TVs from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday – Friday that week and on Saturday, October 7 from 8:00 a.m. – noon.

“Residents will be required to show identification at the gate upon arrival. No remodeling or building materials will be accepted including lumber, concrete, drywall, countertops, floor tiles or roofing shingles,” Forsythe said.

The free drop off service at the Street Department (905 Burlington Avenue) during Fall Clean Up Week is not available for businesses, but is for residents only.

The Clinton County Landfill is located at 2700 North State Road 39.
