Please join me in keeping all those in Corpus Christi, Galveston, Houston and other areas of southeast Texas in your thoughts and prayers as they endure the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. Since last Friday when Harvey hit Texas as a Category 4 hurricane, residents, first responders and government officials have been in “battle mode” fighting the ravages of Mother Nature.
Tragically, at least five people have died, at least a dozen have been injured, with homes destroyed and lives impacted beyond comprehension. With much more rain in the forecast, this disaster is far from over for Texans, with the storm affecting southwest Louisiana as well.
May God watch over the many public safety servants risking their own lives including the U.S. Coast Guard, National Guard, Texas State Guard and local police, fire and EMS personnel to save those stranded. The courageous neighbors who have utilized their own boats and trucks to rescue residents are in our thoughts and prayers as well.
We pray for continued wisdom, strength and vision for all the local, state and national government leaders directing the rescue and recovery efforts. May everyone affected by this unprecedented, horrific situation be kept safe.
