Sadly, Frankfort has lost another long time community leader with the passing of Jim Goar this week. Jim was a proud military veteran, active businessman, civic volunteer and economic development pioneer. Whether it was serving many years as a successful real estate agent, contributing countless volunteer hours for our local Rotary chapter, leading the work of the 392nd Bomb Group Memorial Association and 8th Air Force Historical Society, helping to create our Industrial Park or serving in many capacities in his church, Jim made our city stronger with his caring dedication and hard work.
In December of 2015, Jim was awarded a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Mike Pence for his community service, so his accomplishments were recognized at the State level as well. As we remember Jim, we applaud him for all he achieved in his many roles during his long life. I ask you to join me in keeping his wife, Annabelle, and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this sad and painful time. May God bless Jim as we remember a wonderful man and a life well lived.
