Frankfort, Ind. – The Police Department’s popular and beneficial babysitting safety course again will be offered this year with another free four-week long program for Frankfort and Clinton County teenage (12-18 years old) babysitters.
According to Police Department Office Manager and coordinator of the program Charity Keller, the course will begin Wednesday, October 19 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Police Department’s conference room and will continue for the following three Wednesdays (October 26, November 2, November 9).
“As we have in the past, we are pleased to partner with the Clinton County office of the Indiana Department of Child Services who is providing in-kind funding for this initiative. Each week, different presenters will provide attendees with valuable safety and skills information to help educate our teenage babysitters on all kinds of topics including basic child care, household safety and emergency action plans.
“Our overall goal with this program always is to enhance the safety of everyone involved in a babysitting experience, from the teenagers responsible for the children in their care to the youngsters being cared for; it’s all about knowledge and safety. We want everyone’s experiences in babysitting to be positive and rewarding,” Keller said.
