Volunteers needed to help install smoke alarms
Frankfort firefighters, Clinton County Red Cross volunteers and fire cadets need community volunteers to help them on Saturday as they continue to provide residents with needed smoke detectors.
According to Fire Chief John Kirby, the group will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Clinton County EMS building (1857 South Jackson Street) and start the day together by watching a 45-minute training video on how to install a smoke alarm so everyone feels comfortable doing that task as they visit homes.
“For Saturday’s event, we will be focusing on the southeast section of town that is our last quadrant of the city in our smoke alarm blitz this year, having covered the rest of the community earlier this spring. After the video, from 10:00 a.m. – noon we will blitz the neighborhood with visits to install alarms.
“The Clinton County Red Cross chapter is providing lunch for the teams at noon and then from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. we will be back out in southeast neighborhoods again,” Kirby said.
No RSVP is needed. Volunteers should simply be at the EMS building at 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
